Antonio Brown: What now?

There has been no shortage of media coverage surrounding this man in the past year. this is Antonio Brown, one of the best wide receivers playing the game of football today. We watch as his popularity really takes on in the last couple years as well as his ego. It is true that to play this game, a certain level of confidence is required. Although, there does still exist a crossroads where that confidence turns into arrogance. After the 2018 season, Brown left his longtime team of the Pittsburgh Steelers and signed with the Oakland Raiders. During this transition, Brown took to social media with some negative words toward his former teammate. Brown went on with a huge deal to the Raiders organization but quickly found himself at odds with management there.

Brown had repeatedly gotten into arguments over things like the helmet he would use, showing up to camp, and personal things between him and the General Manager. Brown is no doubt one of the nest receivers in the game but he continues to let his ego drive him which puts him at odds with many. Before the season even begins, Brown allegedly had threatened and made racial slurs towards the GM upon his request to me released from the team. Within a few months, Brown has already left 2 organization but finds himself with a unique opportunity.

Shortly after, he receivers a call from the New England Patriots about signing him. A video showing his excitement came out and shocked the sports world. The Patriots are notorious for being an organization that does not allow divas or egos, such as Brown's, to run rampant. You must either buy into the program, or you're out. I am interested to see how this combination is going to work. I have a great deal of respect for Bill Belichick, Patriot's head coach, because he has created a winning culture there which is a result of unity among the players. Brown is used to being "the guy" to all the attention being on him. How will he adjust to the new environment that does not accommodate that? i guess we have to wait and see.

Until Next Time,
James

  1. You should check out Michael's post too about this and compare! This whole event was crazy to play out and I am still surprised. It seems like a PR or marketing nightmare but I guess he wanted this. I think he just wants to win a super bowl because he left more money. Did you see the case he is now too? The Brown saga continues!
