What Does Your Profile Say About You?

Image
I have returned to share my initial reaction to our reading that was assigned for my Social Media Principles class. The problem is, my textbooks have not arrived, so it is difficult for me to share my knowledge of the chapters when I lack just that. However, I did catch the beginning of chapter 1 in class so that is what I will share with you. The first part of the chapter talked about the importance of keeping your profile picture the same across different platforms so others can recognize you. Having made most all my accounts as a teenager, this thought was furthest from mind. My thoughts were to use the picture that I felt I looked best in. This could vary from platform to platform as picture quality, ratio, and other factors were different on each platform. Now, as a young adult, through the classes I have taken at Ohio Northern University, I have come to appreciate this more as I look for internships and jobs in the near future. Soda vs Pop

Over the summer of 2019, my friends Austin, Micah, and I launched a YouTube channel we decided to call " Gideonz Army TV ". This named originated from an outreach we had done together for years. There, we formed this name and since then we had been referred to as such. What an incredible journey it has been. We started out with little to no knowledge of how to shoot, edit, and ultimately produce our videos. Now, nearly 2 months in, we have neared 100 subscribers, over 2,000 watch minutes and have produced 8 videos. While every aspect of managing a YouTube account is not easy, the greatest challenge for us was promotion. Many hours were spent in determining which social media platforms to post on, what to post, and even what times to post that would optimize our growth. It all came as a shock to ...
